Last week was pretty magical as the Field clan headed to The Red Rock Ranch outside Jackson, Wyoming. We rode all day through the Gros Ventre Valley and climbed ridges to look out upon the Tetons. I fell in love....with the landscape and the horse. (Though I can't bring the Tetons back to Oregon, I may be working on the horse.) We were celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and I can't think of a better way to make some family memories. It was the first vacation I've been on where I had a hard time coming home. Usually, even after the best vacations I look forward to coming back to Portland, but this place was very hard to leave.
I was so inspired by the natural beauty of this place. It's rich history of pioneer life and Native American culture. It gave me another boost of energy for getting back to craft and design that is timeless, natural, functional and rich in beauty. I hope to be working on a special little project for the ranch in the coming week and I will share some pictures as work begins. In the meantime, I highly suggest the Red Rock Ranch as a truly inspiring and soulful place to visit if you get the chance.

Thanks Shauneen for some heartfelt words about this trip and how it delighted and touched you. Wasn't your horse Denny the best? Great photo of you two! So glad this trip will be so memorable for you, Andrew and Iyla.
